Our founder

Our founder Graeme Knowd has over three decades of experience in analyzing companies in Asia, starting his financial career at the Bank of England in London, and most recently serving as country head for leading ratings agency Moody’s Investors Services in Singapore. His experience spans all of APAC from India to Australia, from developed to developing and frontier markets, with particular strengths in Japan, Korea, Mongolia and Vietnam.

Having worked as a top ranked sell side equity analyst at leading investment banks such such as Morgan Stanley, and as a credit analyst at leading investment banks and ratings agencies, including UBS, Moody’s Investors Services and S&P Global he has a demonstrated ability to explain the investment thesis, equity or debt.

He is accomplished at communicating complex topics in an easily understood manner to global investors using the internationally understood language of financial metrics, at the same time as explaining the often unique local drivers behind the numbers, thanks to his deep understanding of Asian society and culture, stemming from his decades of living and working in the region and knowledge of regional languages, particularly Japanese.

Having worked in the both the public and private sector in Asia and internationally and both as an analyst and risk manger at the Bank for International settlements, with one of the largest balance sheets in the world, Graeme has a unique understanding of credit risk, regulatory risk, operational risk and corporate governance all of which are important investment criteria.
